Prayer
I have been set on the wall as a watchman, an intercessor in the place of prayer. I pray daily for Israel, that they may come to know Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah and Savior, for He is the only One who perfectly fulfills Torah and all the messianic prophecies. I pray for salvation for the nations. I pray for revival in the Church. I pray for my generation.
I want to feel the L-rd’s heart over all these things, especially over Israel. I don’t feel it yet. But I will ask Him every day, “L-rd, give me Your heart for Israel,” until He gives it to me.
As believers, we are all called to persevere in prayer, regardless of whether we feel like praying. The L-rd has great things stored up for those who lay hold of Him, as Yeshua said in Matthew 11:12βan entire kingdom. And that kingdom is run on prayer and intercession.
He’s set up His kingdom so that we ask Him for His will to be done. “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance,” the Father said to the Son in Psalm 2. We have been made priests and kings to our G-d by Yeshua’s blood (Revelation 5:9β10). We minister in front of His throne side by side with our great High Priest (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:24β25).
There is a living G-d in Heaven, One who sits on the throne today and listens for our prayers. He has given us the privilege of being a part of His government. He has divinely set us on the wall of intercession. Let us not keep silent…
I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the L-rd, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. (Isaiah 62:6β7, emphasis added)
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers. (Romans 1:9)
