The mystery product has arrived! *Update: The mystery product revealed!*
I picked it up at shipping and receiving today. I’m very pleased with the product. It looks exactly the way I wanted it to look. Kristen came by and picked it up. She’ll let me know how it does at the conference. So far it’s a hit with my officemates, who were completely surprised by its arrival. And two of you readers will be receiving the product as a prize during Reader Appreciation Week (next week).
I will run home over lunch break, take a picture of it, and upload the picture to this post. I hope you don’t feel let down when you see how small the product is…
Update: Mystery product revealed!
Here at IHOP, we focus on praying for Israel. We believe that the Church has not replaced Israel; G-d has plans to save Israel (to cause them to see Y’shua as their Messiah and Savior), to bless them, and to glorify them. We often pray Isaiah 62:6–7 for Israel, the same verse upon which I’ve based this blog’s identity: “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the L-rd, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
But there are many things to focus on in this prayer ministry, and it can be easy to forget to pray for Israel.
Enter the Israel wristband.
The side in the picture says “Watchmen on the wall.” The opposite side says, “Isaiah 62:6–7.” Yes, that is my hand.
This is based on the same idea as the Life wristband: to remind you to pray. Every time you glance at it, say a short prayer for Israel. It can be as short as Paul’s classic prayer from Romans 10:1: “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.” Or it can be as long as you want. The point is to pray for Israel.
What if you want to pray for Israel but don’t have a burden for it yet? I’m a Messianic Jew and I don’t even have a major burden for my people, so we’re in the same boat here. Wear the wristband anyway. Keep praying Romans 10:1, asking the L-rd to give you a heart for Israel. If you keep asking, He will give it.
Kristen’s going to let me know how well they sell. Considering that IHOP’s annual Israel Mandate conference is coming up next week, I think they’ll be gone quickly.
So … there ya go. Not as big as you were expecting, I’m sure. And I must regretfully inform my brother that these will not fetch a big profit on eBay. But I think they’re cool.
can’t wait to see what it is!!!!
Can’t wait for the unveiling!!
I never knew you had readers appreciation week. I’m going to start reading your blogs more often. This is a sweet page by the way. It looks really good as well.
That’s so awesome. I want one. My FITN track my core group studied Romans and we were encouraged to pray that prayer all the time.
Officially awesome.
Jenn, what a great idea! As soon as I read your verse citation (Rom 10:1), I thought of that beautiful song by Joel Chernoff that has that verse as the main lyric. Listening to that song can also be a catalyst for beginning to get a heart for Israel and His Jewish people who don’t yet know Him as Messiah. Maybe you and your readers might want to consider getting some of that gorgeous Messianic worship music on your mp3.
Hey, that’s really great, Jenn! Really cool.
I love it! I’ll be asking my daughter to fill my order. I just went to a service led by a Messianic Rabbi to teach us about Passover. I’m going to pass these bracelets on to he and his wife. (You may end up with orders from Philadelphia!) Congratulations on your new business venture!
Happy Passover – may you have many more sweet ideas!
Glad you guys like it … I don’t have many on hand; I sold most all of them to the Forerunner Bookstore.
@ Mrs. I: is your daughter here at IHOP? (Who is your daughter, by the way?) I don’t know if they’ll make the wristbands available online, so pretty much the only way for you to get any is to have someone buy them here … unless you win the drawing for Reader Appreciation Week.
Shaloha,
I’d like to purchase an Israel wristband. Will you be tabling Cornerstone Festival (Bushnell, Illinoise) or The Call-Nashville? I’m a promoter for CHOP (Cornerstone House of Prayer) as we mobilize for The Call the following week. We’ve got tons of merchandise on hand. Your wristbands are most welcome…
