Reader Appreciation Week

2007 April 2
by Jenn S.

This blog tends to be mostly about me. Which makes sense, since I write it. But I want to take some time to thank my readers. Without readers, I might as well shout into a void or keep my thoughts in my journal. So thank you for faithfully staying with me through my odd ramblings and fumbling studies, and for occasionally daring to communicate with a crazy person who’s still trying to figure out this whole prayer/Christianity thing. I salute your courage and fortitude. You are the true stars of this blog.

In honor of you, because you rock, I am announcing my official participation in Reader Appreciation Week, which will be April 9–13. You can go here for more information on Reader Appreciation Week.

Drawing

I’m going to hold a drawing and award prizes to readers. (Disclaimer: I’m poor, so don’t expect much.) Prizes are as follows:

  • A mystery product (two will be awarded; I will mail it to you if you don’t live here in KC)
  • A personal prophetic word, written down and sent to you after a half-hour of praying for you in the prayer room (one)
  • Your choice: a poem or short story, written by yours truly on any topic you desire (one )—or, if you prefer to do the writing, the opportunity to write a post for my blog (you can link to your own blog and maybe boost your traffic a bit)
  • Grand prize: a brand-new copy of Pursuit of the Holy, edited by yours truly (one)

If you have any other ideas for prizes, please send them in; my prize list looks rather anemic compared to some people. *cough* SHAWN BLANC *cough*

Participation

To participate in the drawing, just leave a comment on this post with your name and email. I will write all of your names on pieces of paper and … that’s right … pick them out of a hat. I’ll announce one winner each day of Reader Appreciation Week.

Featurettes

Plus, I will also write short featurettes on the five people who have commented the most on my blog. This prize is based on your commenting history so far here. I’ll email you to get your permission, to get some basic facts about you, and to ask if you have a web site you want me to link to. I will post one featurette each day. If you want to increase your chances of winning this prize, start commenting. Lurkers, now is the time to come out of hiding!

“A heart to gather God’s people together.” Jenn, that sounds like a beautiful prophetic word over your life. : )

*receives prophetic word* I love prophecy … thanks Denise! It’s accurate, too; I want to see people standing on the wall of intercession who’ve never experienced prayer that way before.

Jenn….I will be on vacation April 9-13. I will be home on Friday nght and will check my email to see what gift the Lord has blessed me with. Prophetic word from a person I don’t know sounds good to me, but…..God knows best, right? I love your spirit…you seem to be very adventurous in the spirit and the natural! Going in uncharted territory is what I hear in the spirit. May the Lord bless you Jenn!

It took a shot at winning a copy of Pursuit to make me break my silence. Toss me in the hat…

Welcome to the party, Anthony. :-) Don’t be shy; I don’t bite (often).
